Burnet Woods is a 90 acre city park located in urban Cincinnati Ohio. This 90 acre park, established in the 1870’s, contains one of the few examples of “Old Growth Forest” within any urbanized area in America today. Our guest today, Cynthia Duval, is the President of the Preserve Burnet Woods organization. This group was initially formed to advocate in opposition to a proposal to use a portion of the park for an arts and cultural center. Today, they are involved with advancing natural resource management strategies within the park in cooperation with the Cincinnati Board of Park Commissioners. This involves volunteer efforts to remove invasive exotic plants as well as initiating new program activities for the park.
